Aubigney is a spelling variation of Abney. I went to the Tour de France and got lost driving to one of the stages. While lost, I passed a turn-off sign to Aubigney! It was a pleasant little town of only a couple dozen houses and a church. I talked to some locals and none knew anything about the town’s past nor why the town was called Aubigney.
